Almost a week has gone by since eurucamp ended and we're all suffering from the post-eurucamp blues. It's hard not to get nostalgic about such a wonderful weekend.

eurucamp is unique, and there were so many amazing moments that will truly make this a conference to remember, such as:

The final day of eurucamp was a non-stop program of outstanding talks interspersed with outbursts of "this is the best conference ever!" and incredulous observations about the conference's wide range of diversity. Throughout the day the atmosphere was relaxed, and the talks inspiring. Over the course of the weekend it became clear that eurucamp is not just a tech conference, but a meeting place for those striving to better themselves and their community.

Day two of eurucamp welcomed visitors with a second day of beautiful weather. The conference started right on time, with some people straggling in late thanks to the opening party on the banks of the river the night before, which raged late into the night. Once again, the delicious coffee bar was a welcome addition to many an attendee.

eurucamp was graced with beautiful weather on Friday as attendees made their way to the stunning and well manicured lawns of the Hasso Plattner Institute. Visitors arrived bright and early to start off the three-day-long conference weekend, and the lobby was abuzz with the excitement of registering, picking up t-shirts, and filling out name tags. By 9:45, everyone found their way either to their eurucamp workshops, or to the JRuby conference, happening simultaneously on campus.

Berlin is wonderful. Its parks are plentiful, its graffiti is as widespread as it is colourful, and its transportation is the envy of many a city. Trains usually run on time (a 5 minute delay is met with numerous grumbles from passengers frantically pacing the platforms), the U bahn (yellow trains; blue U logo) and S bahn (red/yellow trains; green S logo) touch upon every corner of the Hauptstadt, and some form of transportation can be found at almost any hour of the day. Berlin’s transit is a beautiful thing.

eurucamp is a community conference. And as with the podcast, which wouldn't happen without community members spending time and effort for creating something big, we have another thing to announce: eurucamp will be live streamed. As live streaming is dependent on many particularities of the location, which we don't know yet, this is considered a best effort - if it breaks, it breaks. We'll try our best and we are sure that we will have a nice fireplace program for our friends in the southern hemisphere!

Every conference has video. It comes with a lot of problems: bad resolution, format complaints, high bandwidth requirements and problems with lighting. Don't get me started with multiple camera angles. Honestly, if you ask me, that stuff wouldn't fly if it weren't for cats and dogs being much cuter in motion.

Those of you who took a close look at our schedule will have noticed that we have 2 rooms. We are not turning eurucamp into a two-track conference, though. Every speaker will speak twice, once in Hall 1, once in Hall 2. The keynote and discussions will happen on an
